Who is this program intended for? Small business owners or aspiring business owners.
What can we help you with? An app, website, or other tech idea.
We understand you do not have thousands or tens of thousands of dollars for the development of your idea.
Most freelance web and app developers charge a minimum of $1000 for a basic WordPress site with little to no customizations or charge upward of $50/hour which may be steep for those who have an idea but need to get something started. You need time to 1. Evolve your idea and 2. See if customers or clients respond to the app or idea.
At Coding in Color, we train students in a wide variety of technology stacks ranging from Web Development, Robotics, AI, and App Development. Many of our students are looking for real-world experience and to build projects that will benefit others, such as small business owners.
What are the specifics? This program is not free, however, we offer a tiered experience ranging from budgets as low as $500 through several thousands of dollars.
We can work with various timelines where we require a 25% upfront, non-refundable deposit to begin development and require the remaining 75% upon project completion.
Coding in Color will be the acting consultant between the client (yourself) and the student(s) (developers) where we will 1. Define product requirements to fall within budget 2. Set expectations for all parties including project roadmaps with milestones and deadlines and 3. Set communication protocols between all parties.
As much as we want to take on every project, we do have to be selective with the applications we accept. Not all accepted applications will be worked immediately and may need to be slotted for a specific quarter i.e. Project A will begin Q2 of 2024.

We request that you be as clear and concise as possible so we get a good idea of your project and that you have a better chance of being selected. These examples are not required but simply serve as a guide to help us understand what you imagine to be the flow and aesthetic of your product so we can better communicate with the developers what you have in mind. Sooner or later, a draft such as those outlined below will be needed to help all parties come to a consensus on what can be accomplished within the time and budget constraints.
