Verizon Foundation Grant Recipient
Phoenix, AZ (September 12, 2024) — Coding in Color, a nonprofit dedicated to providing computer science education to underserved communities, has been awarded a grant from the Verizon Foundation. The funding will support programs that equip Arizona’s youth with essential skills in technology, preparing them for success in the digital economy.
This grant will allow Coding in Color to expand its outreach to Title I schools and underrepresented communities, offering coding workshops, web development courses, and hands-on tech education. These programs aim to close the opportunity gap and inspire students to pursue careers in computing.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Verizon Foundation for supporting our mission,” said Diana Lee Guzman, President and CEO of Coding in Color. “This grant will enable us to empower more students with the tools they need to succeed in technology fields.”
The partnership with the Verizon Foundation aligns with Coding in Color's goal of fostering social equity through STEAM education, helping students from underserved communities gain access to high-quality tech training and future career opportunities.
